This is an unofficial guide to Shannon Airport

Shops at Shannon Airport

Several shops operate at Shannon Airport, with options on both sides and customs. One of Shannon’s claims to fame was its leadership in duty-free airport shopping, it has been offer duty-free since 1947. This was the first terminal in the world to offer such a service, and other airports have modelled their offerings after those first instituted at Shannon.

In 2014 Shannon Airport proudly relaunched the ‘Shannon Duty-Free’ brand with 40s inspired entertainment, reminiscent of famous faces from the past who had once travelled through Shannon Airport.

The shops offer an incredible 60 brands including top names in Irish and European products such as Chanel, Gucci, YSL, Armani, Clarins, Lancome, Benefit and Marc Jacobs and a range of luxury items, confectionary, spirits, cigarettes, travel accessories and food.  Airport Shopping is available to all passengers, travelling to all destinations. Those travelling within the EU can avail of a  ‘Shop and Collect’ service which is particularly convenient. Passengers can do their shopping before they fly, and then pick up their purchase from the collection point in the Arrivals Hall.

There several smaller shops on offer in the Airport as well. Two WHSmith booksellers – one in the Arrivals Hall and the other in the Departures Hall – sell reading materials, travel accessories and confectionary. The branch in the Departures Hall is open 24 hours. Londis Shop also sells confectionary, reading material and travel accessories in the arrivals area.

Two Shannon Irish Design Stores also operate at Shannon, dealing mainly in jewellery, woollen items and rugs. There is a branch on each side of security, so all passengers have the opportunity to pay a visit.

Final, the tourist information centre in the Arrivals Hall also has a range of merchandise on offer. Incoming passengers can purchase maps, tourist guidebooks and Irish gifts here.
