This is an unofficial guide to Shannon Airport

Shops at Shannon Airport

Several shops operate at Shannon Airport, with options on both sides and customs. One of Shannon’s claims to fame was its leadership in duty-free airport shopping. This was the first terminal in the world to offer such a service, and other airports have modelled their offerings after those first instituted at Shannon.

The main shopping concourse at Shannon Airport is called The Loop. It’s only open to departing passengers and operates 24 hours per day. It offers a range of luxury items, confectionary, spirits, cigarettes, travel accessories and food. The Loop’s ‘Shop and Collect’ service is particularly convenient. Passengers can do their shopping before they fly, and then pick up their purchase from the collection point in the Arrivals Hall.

There several smaller shops on offer here as well. Two WHSmith booksellers – one in the Arrivals Hall and the other in the Departures Hall – sell reading materials, travel accessories and confectionary. The branch in the Departures Hall is open 24 hours. Londis Shop also sells confectionary, reading material and travel accessories in the arrivals area.

Two Glen Aran Irish Markets also operate at Shannon, dealing mainly in jewellery, woollen items and rugs. There is a branch on each side of security, so all passengers have the opportunity to pay a visit.

Final, the tourist information centre in the Arrivals Hall also has a range of merchandise on offer. Incoming passengers can purchase maps, tourist guidebooks and Irish gifts here.
